For as long as I can remember I've had a love of photography. Portraits, animals, nature, architecture, travel destinations, underwater...you name it, I loved it! It wasn't until I started up my account on instagram that my love of benchtop photography began. Ofcourse, I'd seen it in magazine articles but I had never really taken much notice. Since then, every time I am scrolling through my new feed and stumble across one of Margaret Zhang's, Cindy Chen's, or Karina Sharpes images, I really feel the lust for this form of photography.
In late 2013, I was lucky enough to attend Karina Sharpe's Bench Top Photography workshops in Byron Bay. I soon learnt that the fine art of placing the objects correctly, creating a style and telling a story is not as easy as one might think...It takes real patience, and a lot of talent. Here are a few of my favourites.
