At Home with Madelynn Furlong

The moment I came across this beautiful home, I couldn't resist sharing it! This is the amazing apartment of Madelynn Furlong and it was featured by The Everygirl Blog.
Madelynn is a talented & stylish 24-year-old who is an assistant designer at Target, a stylist with Hackwith Design House and blogger at Wide Eyed Legless. Her home, located in Minneapolis, is shared by Madelynn's husband Caylon and their adorable dog Benzel. The home is a perfect blend of minimalism, texture, light and timber featuring a copper clothes rack, hand-made timber furniture and an arched floor to ceiling window flooding the home with natural light.

The Birthday Lust List

I've been doing a lot of day dreaming lately. Dreaming of travel, dreaming of winter fashion, dreaming of adventure, dreaming of beautiful interiors, dreaming of of winter days curled up in bed with a hot cup of tea and a beautiful book. With my birthday fast approaching (how is it already June!?) and my daydreaming turning to lusting, my birthday wish list is rapidly growing! I believe the rule with daydreaming is that there isn't a dream (or price tag) too big!

Maybe you'll find a little something you'd like to add to your own lust list! Enjoy mine!

Ahhh, beautiful simplicity. I love this Matt Black & Black Leather Watch from The Horse .

I found this book once in a store in Bangalow, and I was in awe from the moment I picked it up. I've seen Michael Eastman's books before and each book is better than the last. His book 'Vanishing America' is a simply stunning architectural, interior and city scape photography book, taking the reader all over America. But this book has my heart. These beautiful creatures are perfectly captured in this must have Coffee table book. Horses Photography by Michael Eastman

There is nothing I love more than winter. Especially a white, wintery Christmas, and where better to spend Christmas than in beautiful Scotland! To achieve this one I'm going to need a lotto win, or a miracle!

MySydneyLife X Carmel Louise Style Collaboration

It’s finally here! The launch of my first collaboration | MySydneyLife X Carmel Louise.
As the seasons change and the leaves turn a gorgeous hue of autumnal orange, we will be sharing all our cosy style secrets, with a few little surprises up our sleeves!

Danielle is the uber stylish, flower-loving, Sydney-sider behind the blog, MySydneyLife. Her beautiful lifestyle blog features all of her favourite places & spaces in and around the Eastern Suburbs in Sydney as well as décor, event styling & entertaining mixed with a little bit of fashion. Can you see why I’m hooked!?

Her style, as she describes it, is understated feminine classic chic.  Preferring her style to feel effortless and relaxed, she is usually drawn to pieces that are easy to throw together but still feel polished. My style however is very feminine. One of my favourite looks at the moment is my Dion Lee leather skirt with a tucked in chambray shirt & white leather cons, finished off with a top knot & a fine silver necklace.

Although she never considered herself a creative person, after 5 years experience at her first agency job, she soon discovered a real passion for writing and creativity. Having been lucky enough to work with some amazing Creative & Art Directors, her experiences have opened her eyes to a new way of thinking. And the more she exposed herself to creativity, the more she realised how much she was truly passionate about it.

Danielle shared her vision and aim of her blog with me saying “My vision for my blog is to inspire my readers to live a more beautiful life. Be that through trying new delicious restaurants or cafes, adopting a new styling or home décor trend or visiting a new weekend destination that they have read about on my blog. Without being a Gen Y stereotype, I would love to be able to turn my passion in to a career and take MySydneyLife to the next level – increase my readership and be able to work with clients and brands to leverage my audience and become a professional blogger. I love to dream big and believe that positive thinking leads to positive energy in your life

"Blooms for me are always my go to – they instantly lift and transform a boring room. They add a beautiful focal point and the beauty of them is that you can add a new accent each week, depending on your mood. When I’m feeling romantic I love to buy scented roses. Not only do they fill the room with a luscious rose scent, they transform from a tight bud in to a full bloom, creating an evolving spectacle on your coffee table." - Danielle

A Day in The Life of MySydneyLife

A typical Saturday for me is all about rest & relaxation, recharging from a busy week.

8am: I’ll start the day with a dog walk with my husband & our American Staffy Roscoe. One of our favourite walks is down to Rushcutter Bay Park, which is just around the corner from our house. Now that the season is changing, it’s so beautiful to walk down to the harbour with the park changing shade to auburn and enjoy the crispness in the air. Without the summer haze, everything feels so clean and crisp and the water simply sparkles underneath the sail boats moored in the harbour.

9am: I’ll meet my girlfriend at Flow Athletic for a yoga class. My favourite classes are with Active Yogi – Kate Kendall. She is a master of the art and you always leave her classes feeling energised and balances.

11am: We will head to the local markets, either Paddington or Eveleigh Markets to pick up some fresh blooms, coffee and some brunch on the go. We usually also grab some fresh produce either for dinner or Sunday brunch, the mixed heirloom tomatoes from Eveleigh Markets are our favourites!

3pm: Weekend lunches are usually pretty low key and late. Afternoons are usually spent lounging around the house - me working on my blog or catching up on all my favourite magazines & Jamie in his studio working on music. Usually while he is ensconced in his music, I will indulge in bad TV, my favourites are The Real Housewives of Melbourne and pretty much anything on Lifestyle YOU.

7pm: Usually we will meet friends for drinks or head out to try a new restaurant. I enjoy my Sunday mornings too much these days, so gone are the days of late night partying. I'm boring & enjoy being in bed by 12pm :)

MySydneyLife's favourite spaces & places

 Cafes
The best coffee in Sydney at the moment is definitely Boots Darling on South Dowling St. I love the vibe here, the service is genuine and the food is amazing. They do an incredible bircher museli with poached pear, cinnamon yoghurt & pistachio crumble. Their zucchini fritters are also to die for.
A little closer to home, our coffee local is Posto 19. They serve Little Marionette coffee and the barrista's are true masters of their craft. The perfect balance of creaminess and coffee blended in a cup.

 Shops
I can’t go past Opus Design Co on Oxford St in Paddington without having a browse. They have the most amazing range of beautiful homewares and furniture, I literally spend thousands in my mind each time I leave the store. They also stock sumptuous candles, crockery and must have stationary.
The Intersection on Glenmore Road is one of my favourite Eastern suburbs locations. I’ll lose hours browsing through Mecca and my favourite store is Little Joe NY who has the most delicate cashmere and silk items mixed with butter soft leather – all to die for.

At Home with Jonny Buckland

Coldplay guitarist Jonny Buckland brings the rock-and-roll spirit to his family's Manhattan loft. The loft is a 19th-century Romanesque Revival building on Astor Place, near the epicenter of Greenwich Village.
The dark palette, white spaces, and use of strong woods throughout makes the apartment feel both modern and timeless. The plain oak floors have been replaced with salvaged antique herringbone and stained dark to give character. The dining table is a thick, heavily grained wood slab, and the large kitchen island is mahogany butcher block, which is easily maintained as promised by the designers.

Celebrity Wedding: Kate Moss

Supermodel Kate Moss wed guitarist Jamie Hince on 11th July 2011, in an afternoon ceremony in Costwolds. Kate, in her own words, described her wedding as ”rock n roll meets the Great Gatsby”.

The reception was held at Kate's £2 million Costwolds home, and saw her change into 3 different outfits through out the night! The changes included a Stella McCartney Oyster Silk Chiffon dress for her first dance, then a micro mini bodycon dress for the after party and a third Stella creation, a three piece off-white wool suit for her going away outfit.
