It’s finally here! The launch of my first collaboration | MySydneyLife X Carmel Louise.
As the seasons change and the leaves turn a gorgeous hue of autumnal orange, we will be sharing all our cosy style secrets, with a few little surprises up our sleeves!
Danielle is the uber stylish, flower-loving, Sydney-sider behind the blog, MySydneyLife. Her beautiful lifestyle blog features all of her favourite places & spaces in and around the Eastern Suburbs in Sydney as well as décor, event styling & entertaining mixed with a little bit of fashion. Can you see why I’m hooked!?
Although she never considered herself a creative person, after 5 years experience at her first agency job, she soon discovered a real passion for writing and creativity. Having been lucky enough to work with some amazing Creative & Art Directors, her experiences have opened her eyes to a new way of thinking. And the more she exposed herself to creativity, the more she realised how much she was truly passionate about it.
Danielle shared her vision and aim of her blog with me saying “My vision for my blog is to inspire my readers to live a more beautiful life. Be that through trying new delicious restaurants or cafes, adopting a new styling or home décor trend or visiting a new weekend destination that they have read about on my blog. Without being a Gen Y stereotype, I would love to be able to turn my passion in to a career and take MySydneyLife to the next level – increase my readership and be able to work with clients and brands to leverage my audience and become a professional blogger. I love to dream big and believe that positive thinking leads to positive energy in your life
A Day in The Life of MySydneyLife
A typical Saturday for me is all about rest & relaxation, recharging from a busy week.
8am: I’ll start the day with a dog walk with my husband & our American Staffy Roscoe. One of our favourite walks is down to Rushcutter Bay Park, which is just around the corner from our house. Now that the season is changing, it’s so beautiful to walk down to the harbour with the park changing shade to auburn and enjoy the crispness in the air. Without the summer haze, everything feels so clean and crisp and the water simply sparkles underneath the sail boats moored in the harbour.
9am: I’ll meet my girlfriend at Flow Athletic for a yoga class. My favourite classes are with Active Yogi – Kate Kendall. She is a master of the art and you always leave her classes feeling energised and balances.
11am: We will head to the local markets, either Paddington or Eveleigh Markets to pick up some fresh blooms, coffee and some brunch on the go. We usually also grab some fresh produce either for dinner or Sunday brunch, the mixed heirloom tomatoes from Eveleigh Markets are our favourites!
3pm: Weekend lunches are usually pretty low key and late. Afternoons are usually spent lounging around the house - me working on my blog or catching up on all my favourite magazines & Jamie in his studio working on music. Usually while he is ensconced in his music, I will indulge in bad TV, my favourites are The Real Housewives of Melbourne and pretty much anything on Lifestyle YOU.
7pm: Usually we will meet friends for drinks or head out to try a new restaurant. I enjoy my Sunday mornings too much these days, so gone are the days of late night partying. I'm boring & enjoy being in bed by 12pm :)
MySydneyLife's favourite spaces & places
The best coffee in Sydney at the moment is definitely Boots Darling on South Dowling St. I love the vibe here, the service is genuine and the food is amazing. They do an incredible bircher museli with poached pear, cinnamon yoghurt & pistachio crumble. Their zucchini fritters are also to die for.
A little closer to home, our coffee local is Posto 19. They serve Little Marionette coffee and the barrista's are true masters of their craft. The perfect balance of creaminess and coffee blended in a cup.
I can’t go past Opus Design Co on Oxford St in Paddington without having a browse. They have the most amazing range of beautiful homewares and furniture, I literally spend thousands in my mind each time I leave the store. They also stock sumptuous candles, crockery and must have stationary.
The Intersection on Glenmore Road is one of my favourite Eastern suburbs locations. I’ll lose hours browsing through Mecca and my favourite store is Little Joe NY who has the most delicate cashmere and silk items mixed with butter soft leather – all to die for.
Inspiring words from MySydneyLife
Danielle puts much of her creative journey down to growing confident in her own abilities, which has grown exponentially over the past year. She has also come to believe that by surrounding yourself with creative & successful people, you can really empower yourself by learning new skillhttp://www.mysydneylife.com.aus and absorbing everything around you. This girl is seriously inspiring!
