Coldplay guitarist Jonny Buckland brings the rock-and-roll spirit to his family's Manhattan loft. The loft is a 19th-century Romanesque Revival building on Astor Place, near the epicenter of Greenwich Village.
The dark palette, white spaces, and use of strong woods throughout makes the apartment feel both modern and timeless. The plain oak floors have been replaced with salvaged antique herringbone and stained dark to give character. The dining table is a thick, heavily grained wood slab, and the large kitchen island is mahogany butcher block, which is easily maintained as promised by the designers.
