Travelogue

In 2010, I travelled to South East Asia. Armed with nothing but my backpack and the Lonely Planet guide, I began a three month trip through four countries. I spent most of my plane trip from Brisbane to Bangkok reading the guide, cover to cover. I didn't have much of a plan when I left Australia. I had two weeks booked in Phuket, I knew my beautiful Brazilian friend would be meeting me in northern Thailand to join me for a couple of weeks, and I knew I wanted an adventure like nothing I'd had before. I wanted this trip to open my eyes and my mind to the way people live, the cultures they live in and the hardships they'd been through. I wanted to trek through the Thai jungle, go tubing in Laos, learn and see with my own eyes  the heartbreaking history of Cambodia, provide offerings to the monks of Luang Prabang at dawn, discover the hidden beach of Vietnam and eat all weird and wonderful things from the night markets - some I wish I had questioned!

My new weekly series 'Travelogue Tuesday' will take you on a journey of my time travelling through not only South East Asia, but also USA, Europe, United Kingdom, Mexico & Australia. I encourage you to comment either on Instagram, or in the comment box below with questions, your own experiences and any further information you'd like to offer. I'd love to hear from you!
